MIAA to stranded OFWs: Do not stay in the airport unless you have confirmed flights

(MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal said to locally stranded passengers hoping to go back to their provinces, not to go to NAIA except they have confirmed flights. He added, before going to the airport they need to call their agency or airlines to confirm if there are any changes in their flight.

The chief of Airport said that they were overwhelmed when the stranded passengers who came in groups. Inquiries made with the stranded passengers told that they have a leader who told them to go to Airport Terminal 2 because there was a flight that would bring them home to various parts of Visayas and Mindanao. They refused to leave and stay in the Terminal saying they will just wait for a flight whenever it will be available.

Meanwhile, the OWWA provides meals and MIAA gives foods and hygiene kits to them. General Manager Monreal expressed concern that stranded passengers continued to stay outside the airport building pose may risk to their health. He explained to other up coming passengers to make sure they have confirmed booking and valid tickets to avoid going through the same experience.
