Online Seller Busted For Over Price Face Mask and Alcohol
The Prosecutor’s Office of Cauayan, Philippines has filed a case against an online seller who was arrested in an entrapment operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Arrested and charged with a violation of Republic Act 7581 or Price Act was Michael Bravo, 27 and a resident of Marabulig I, Cauayan City. In an interview with Lt. Col. Arturo Marcelino, head of CIDG Isabela said they received a report on the suspect’s sale of overpriced facemask and alcohol so they negotiated with him and carried out the entrapment operation.
Bravo recovered in his possession a bundle of boodle money with marked money. Bravo also confiscated 31 pieces of ethyl alcohol that were placed in plastic bottles and sold for 300 pesos and 30 pieces of face mask for 150 pesos each. Lt. Col. Marcelino said Bravo admitted that he had a source of items that he sold online and that CIDG is now investigating.
