Starting thirty first of January (January 31, 2020) There will be a new operating hours for the Dubai RedLine Metro. Plan your journey ahead of time.
If you are planning to go out and enjoy the weather, you should plan your adventure ahead of time because there will be no metro red lines during Friday mornings until o’clock in the afternoon. Commencing Friday and continuing on February 7, 14, 21 and 28, plus March 6 and 13, the red line will start at 2pm and continue to 1am Saturday. Metro timing will revert to normal operational hours on Fridays on March 20.
Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Younes, CEO of Rail Agency, RTA, called on the public to use alternative transport modes and recommended them to plan their journeys in advance.
“The change of operational timing of the Dubai Metro Red Line on the above mentioned dates is dictated by the need to carry operational tests for the integration of the systems of Route 2020 and ensure the optimal operation of the network. It will also ensure that the regular service on those days is not disrupted,” said Younes.
“RTA is always keen on the smooth running of the metro service for riders on all weekdays, Fridays and holidays unless in exceptional cases, such as this,” he added.
Awareness messages are being broadcast to metro riders about the change of operational hours through announcements at metro stations, on board metro cabins, and through leaflets and posters at stations. Messages are also being transmitted via smart screens at stations, ticket vending machines, RTA website and RTA mobile app.
