Successful Repatriation of OFWs since April, Brings total number of repatriated Filipinos to 36,000.
Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Sarah Arriola said in a press briefing, there wer 36,731 OFWs had been repatriated as of June 7, and most of them are sea-based workers employed in cruise ships.
Record from DFA showed that 22,198 of the repatriated OFWs are sea-based workers, and 14,533 are land-based. Meanwhile, there are still 30,000 to 35,000 more sea-based workers who need to be repatriated. There are lots of Overseas Filipino Workers who are trying their luck to return home, after losing their jobs abroad.
Meanwhile, there are still 500,000 Filipinos who are stock overseas who wishes to return home. However, there are only limited arrivals that can be accommodate by the national government.
